Why was John baptizing people?

Why was John baptizing people when he was a Jew in the wilderness. There were no Christians at this time so what was he doing out there? Actually could you call it the wilderness if there was a steady stream of people seeking him out to get baptized? This doesn't make sense to me.

Don't take Christ out of Chrismas

Hey, HEY!!!! Don't take Christ outta Christmas. Or the bunny outta Easter! Grrrrrrr. Or the Leprechan outta Lucky Charms. (they are magically delicious.)

Let's think about Christmas. The Christians put their holiday on it's present date to coincide with the Pagan Winter Holiday. All of the pine including the tree and the wreath is Pagan because they wanted to preserve the trees lifes essence. Holly is Pagan. Presents are Pagan. Christ, although there is no historical proof of him is the only link to Christmas. The manger is wrong. It would have been a cave. The wise men would have taken years to get to the manger so a baby Christ would not have been. He wouldn't still be hanging out in a manger.

So what is anyone taking out of Christmas? Seems to me the Christians took Pagan out of Christmas. All I want is for Christians to leave everyone else alone. Stop trying to make us aknowledge your religion when you make no effort to aknowledge anyone else's.

Why does god have a penis?

If god has always been and there are no other gods... Why does he have a penis? We know he has one cause man is formed in his image. What would be it's use. Does he pee in the void of space? Does he fornicate with... Who? The only two others who could possibly be with him are jesus and the holy spirit. Is god gay? I thought that was a no no to the christians so what gives?

Obama Death Prayer

Peter Peters of the LaPorte, Colorado Church of Christ, Pastor Wiley Drake is a Former Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention, and Steven Anderson pastor of the Faithful Word Baptist Church all have begun an Obama death prayer.  Does this sound like a thing christians should do?  Just goes to show how strange religion has become.  I think I'll stay an Atheist and have some compassion.  

Lots of inbreeding

I was in an Amish store the other day and I noticed three little Amish kids playing outside. As I watched their rough and tumble antics I was shocked to notice all three exhibited the facial charactorics of mongalism. I brought this to my wife's attention and she was simaliarly shocked. The community was small and my wife wondered what they would do when the inbreeding got to be to much. I postulated that they would swap out some of their people with a similar community and that would insert the new genetic material needed to put the community back on the right track. I am not sure how this happens but that was my guess.

It made me think of the story of Noah. If the flood story was true wouldn't we be very inbred at this point? I mean with so few people; Noah, his sons, and their wives. Who would be the new material to stop our genitic demise? Why would people have differing skin colors? Wouldn't we all be the same? Many Christians say Darwin was a quack but his theory answers the question of why we are all different. The bible just leaves people in the dark, believing a book written by people who thought germs were devils.

Why does god have eyes?

Why would god have eyes?  He said he created us in his own image and we have eyes.  Christians always tell me god has existed forever and ever.  If he was floating around in a big black void for ever and ever, why would he have eyes.  I guess that isn't as crazy as the fact that he must have a penis.  Even though he was the only one in the void.  Hmmmmmmm

Rested?

I just had an odd thought.  Why did god rest on the seventh day?  Isn't he all powerful?  Should he get tired?

I am really blown away.  This isn’t what is written on the courthouse walls.  Those were ten of the one hundred odd judgments.

OK. I have been blessed. I have received a sign. I may have to drop both of my blogs. My cat is even a worshipper of the image that appeared on my screen door.

700 club Christians?

I can't believe it.  My wife was flicking through the channels and she stopped at the 700 Club Monday April 13th 2009.  AAccckkkk.....  Have these guys read their own book?  I mean, they were talking about The freighters which were being attacked by pirates. He said the answer to how they can be protected is to arm them (the freighters.)  Let me get this straight.  His god, when he was on earth, (prior to becoming a zombie) said though shall not kill.  Isn't it even a commandment?  He 30 seconds later said if pirates attack they should blow them out of the water.  I believe this is proof that he has never read his gods rule book.  Sure, his god is a homicidal maniac in the first book.  But his rules for his people were not to kill... unless....  er he says it is Ok?  I love Pat, he is the worst possible person to represent his people on the BOOB tube.

Why don't christians believe in Natural Selection?

I have been reading a book on the essential understanding of evolution. It is called Teach Yourself Evolution by James Napier. First I must say the book is very good and written for the nonscientist. That is important to me because I wanted a functional knowledge of Darwin's theory in a format I could readily access if the need occurs. This leads me to the meat of this post. Why don't Christians believe Darwin's theory on Natural Selection? Think of it this way. If Noah was the only one to survive the flood, where did the different races of people come from? Now I am not saying that I believe in the flood story (I don't) but being hypathetical for the sake of argument why souls Noah's children all have different physical characteristics? Anybody should be able to tell you peoples skin color is directly related to their regions positional relationship to the equator. The further from the equator the lighter ones skin. This is just one of the changes that happened to man over time. I know Christians don't like questions but what gives?

The beginning

I am a self confessed Atheist.  I was told that on Twitter just before a pastor blocked me.  I enjoy educating Christians about their silly beliefs.  In my other blog http://whatdayathink-huh.blogspot.com/ I am reading the bible and writing about what it really says.  Most Christians really don't read the book for comprehension, but just to try to memorize little verses to impress their friends.  Here I will try to post things that pop in my head about religion.  I hope you like my my observations.
